The Baptist Collegiate Network (BCNet) and Collegeministry.com are facilitated by college ministers from around North America, who volunteer time to find ways to provide encouragement, resources, and new ideas to other college ministers. These college ministers are from churches, campuses, and sometimes something in between. There are currently nine teams of individuals helping with BCNet, and we wanted to share an update from a few of those teams and what they are working on. Make sure to subscribe to the Collegeministry.com newsletter and follow collegeministry.com on social media so you do not miss a thing!
The Campus Based team is starting the New Campus Ministers Fellowship for campus ministers who have served for 1-3 years. This can be a new campus minister serving for the first time, a campus minister who has served for a few years but serving at a new campus, or a campus missionary who is desiring to serve full-time in campus ministry. These campus ministers will have the opportunity to participate in six zoom meetings for networking, learning, and community. The fall semester zoom meetings will take place September 13th, October 11th, and November 8th and will cover topics ranging from knowing your campus, connecting well with churches, finding mentors, and good boundaries in ministry. - Timeless principles that are
- Transferable among cultures and with
- Clarity around a way forward
- We are developing nine trainings on the fundamentals of building a discipleship, multiplying culture. Each training will have
- A ten-minute video offering high-level training,
- a one-page worksheet with thought-provoking questions, and
- an offer for coaching, with the goal of eventually having a discipleship coaching network
The International Student Ministry team of BCNET educates, equips, and encourages college ministers, students and community volunteers working with international students. Our team does this by offering monthly zoom gatherings for training and networking, as well as two gatherings a year for students ministering to internationals. Our team is excited to help others engage international students and help the students encounter the Gospel. Join us for our first monthly conversation on September 14th, 2PM EST! The “Called to Ministry team” aims to equip both leaders and their students in practically exploring the call of God in their context. We fully recognize the need for ministers in all categories (pastoral, missional, musical, etc.) and we are confident that God is still calling people to such gospel work. For this reason, this committee aims to help individuals in exploring the call to ministry by providing resources, opportunities, and training to strengthen and confirm one’s ministry path.
The Communications team’s goal is to get the word out about all that is happening with BCNet! They aim to share helpful information and articles through the monthly newsletter and on social media.
